Replaced 250W metal halide with CP250 LED fixtures on building exterior overhang.
Previous metal halide fixtures had issues with dirt/insect contamination inside fixture as well as discoloration of lens due to excessive heat.
CP250 LED fixture is completely sealed from contamination and very low heat to eliminate any discoloration over life.
Expected L70 (time retaining 70% of their original output) >100,000 hours.
Maintenance schedule: metal halide: 2500 hours lamp life, requiring lift and 1-2 men servicing fixtures @$25/hr. for 20 replacement cycles = $500 per light + $50 per lamp x 20 and one ballast/ignitor replacement every 10 lamps @ $35 = $1,035 over 50,000 hours PER LAMP
Energy Savings: from 250W per fixture plus ballast losses (~300W) to 100W per LED fixture (~110W with ballast); ~65% reduction energy.
